I read a hilarious book, that said male olive baboons get along because they're literally too scared of each other to initiate fights. Because of their freakish pointy teeth, neither party has the confidence to fight, so the worst fights amount to two males nerviously yelling at each other while keeping their distance or slapping at each other with their heads turned away. Sometimes the males even have a spot of hanky-panky to cool each other down and defuse the tension. Ironically, baboons are a heckovalot nicer than chimpanzees are.
